How did you find out about SI Radio?: Browsing the Interwebz
The information below will guide you through the our application process and fill you in on what it takes to be a personality here at Split Infinity Radio. If you fail to adhere to these guidelines we cannot promise your application will be given consideration. Please read all stated information before continuing to the application below.

Before You Apply, Note:
-You must be at least 18 years of age. No exceptions!
-We broadcast solely in the English language, all applicants should be fluent English speakers.
-We accept applications from all over the world, not just the U.K., Canada & U.S.
-You will need at least a 256kbps upload speed.

Well, we live in the era of broadband, and poor sound quality on the radio is not acceptable. Split Infinity Radio broadcasts at 128kbps. You need to have at least twice as much the upload speed in order to ensure an interruption free broadcast. Please don't upgrade your bandwidth just for the tryout's sake. Having a tryout does not automatically qualify you as a Split Infinity Radio DJ. So if you plan on upgrading your bandwidth, make sure you have more reasons to do it other than just qualifying for the tryout. You can test your upload speed with this website.

You need to have a microphone and headphones or a headset.

Obviously, when you're on the air you have to talk to your listeners. You can't do so without a microphone now eh? Any microphone will do really. Even a crappy $1 soundblaster one, however spending more will make you sound better obviously. Headphones are needed to avoid the dreaded feedback loop. If you have a set of headphones or a headset, you can rest assured that both you and your listener's ears will be safe from harm.

You need to have a legally obtained collection of music.

Unless you are on for a talk show (but really, a one man talk show doesn't cut it these days), you will have to broadcast some music as well. We are not going to give you any music or any guidelines or suggestions on the genre. That's something you have to find for yourself.

You need to have confidence.

If you think that the moment you push that button to talk to your audience, you're going to have to breathe into a paper bag, then you should probably turn the other way. Confidence is something that will make you build upon your talking bits and concentrate on the next witty thing you'll say instead of ways of not to faint on the keyboard. Focusing on not freaking out is going to make your talkovers sound forced and boring, and nobody wants to listen to boring!

You need at least 9 hours of time per week to dedicate to the station.

Split Infinity runs 24/7. Keep in mind that each DJ will need to have six hours set aside each week for at least three two hour sets. You will also need about three hours each week to keep up with the DJ forums, promote the station and promote us elsewhere. Of course Real Life (what?) doesn't always agree with the online life, so there's no biggie if you need to exchange a slot, or even not do it. However, in such occasions you are expected to notify in advance, so we can arrange the schedule accordingly.

Being committed is also being able to accept constructive listener and fellow DJ criticism. Comments are food for thought so you can see in what areas you are lacking, and what you can do to improve. Almost every time, our DJ's began their radio "careers" with nothing more than potential, and harnessed it into awesomeness. You need to aspire to be awesome.

Hope to hear from you soon!
