New this week on Indie Saturday Premiere - Organic Panic

Organic Panic is this weeks ISP game from Last Limb that was recently released on Steam. This physics based action puzzle game has everything you want in a game - completely destructible levels, dynamic reactive liquids, the ability to create and share custom levels to name a few. The storyline is revealed through the ingame comic book as you destroy your way through the levels.

The characters you can play have different abilities that come in handy while navigating your way thru these insanely fun levels. Cherry controls Earth, Kiwi controls Water, Carrot controls Fire and Coconut controls Gravity. The Meat Cartel will test your skills with their mechanical aresenal of destruction.

I've always been a fan of Dig Dug & Super Mario type games so for me Organic Panic was an instant hit. I love the fact that you can literally destroy everything in each level providing you have certain "power ups." The beginning levels have you learning what your toon can do and introduces you to the different classes and environments. The levels for me go beyond just smash this and roll thru that to complete the level. You have to put some thought to get through the obstacles - perhaps it's flooding the room to drown the meats or maybe you need to break apart the earth beneath the meats feet and drop them into a pit.

I was able to catch up with Anatole from Last Limb:

What was the inspiration to create a game with food based characters?
The inspiration was a progression from a game design we were touting over 10 years ago at a company we ran called Pukka Games, it was called Veggie Olympics' (For the GBA) - Damon always had the desire to keep and develop the Veggie theme, so we expanded it to Fruit 'N Veggies and the natural antagonists were Meats 'N Cheese.

If there is enough interest in having an online multiplayer option would one be added in?
We'd love to put in a online multiplayer and think there would be much interest in it, it's tricky in terms of the technology, there is so much happening, destruction of the environment, liquids flowing around, physics interactions that syncing all that in real-time is not possible, yet. But we're looking into cloud based gaming, where players play a cloud game remotely, in this way we could get OP to work online multiplayer, it's something we would love to do and are looking into.

Now that the games launch is behind you have you guys had a chance to play thru some player created content? If so was there any build in particular that stands out?
We don't have many levels contributed by players just yet, and we're in the process of fixing up and making it the whole process  easier to use. We also have a Level designer working with us now, he's going to be designing, building levels and sharing the process with the community. This will be our next steps of development and encouraging the community to join in the fun - Watch this space.

If you are looking for a silly blow off steam type of game this one is well worth a look. Steam is having a sale on Organic Panic for $4.99 which is 50% off the normal price of $9.99. For now it's single player or local co-op with full controller support. The game also comes with the level editor / Steam Workshop.

I had to include this video once you watch it you will see why!
