Pocky & Pepero

Every Thursday during Asian Insanity, I bring you the lastest music and news from Japan and Korea. The topics of discussion this week were the live action of Majo no Takkyūbin (Kiki's Delivery Service), the short film "Silicon;BootDrive" and more.

Check it out!

The Majo no Takkyūbin manga is being turned into a live action film. The manga follows the coming of age of Kiki with her black cat Jiji. Being based off the novels, Studio Ghibli's anime adaption has no corrolation to the live action.

The Studio Ghibli's anime adapted the first novel volume, while the live-action film will cover the first two volumes. The live-action film adaptation is slated to open in Japan in spring 2014.

Although it has no correlation to Studio Ghibli, I am curious as to how this will turn out. It seems like it will be a fun movie... if they do it right >.>

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and 009 Re:Cyborg director Kenji Kamiyama has collaborated with A.T to create a live-action independent short film called "Silicon;BootDrive".

The story takes place in 2020, five years after a meteor known as "God's Needle" landed off the coast of California. The meteor brought with it an infectious virus that began changing the human race into its next form of evolution.

I must say that this is a brilliant piece of work. I wish there was more actually.
